It feels like we enter an even darker timeline every day in the U.S. As much as I love sewing cacti & smoking cats onto t-shirts, it seems futile while the world burns. Sometimes the more aware I am of current events, the harder it is for me to focus on producing marketable, empty (but still totally cool) Art that isn’t really saying anything.

I got my BFA at SAIC, where they embedded into us the importance of creating with purpose. Conceptual Art is what captures peoples’ attention and has the potential to change minds.

Instead of utilizing all of my inner political rage and turning it into powerful visuals to share with the world, I’m considering picking up a bar tending job to make ends meet. This would take even more time away from being able to focus on what feels vital.
